Pethau diddorol sy’n digwydd yn eich ardal chi! Dewch i weld….

 

We meet on the first Tuesday of each month, 7:30pm at Canolfan Awelon, School Road, Ruthin. In addition to the monthly evenings, we have arranged some extra activities.

(Directions to Awelon: From the Craft centre/Tesco roundabout, take the town centre exit, then quickly take the second right (School Road) and head up the hill. Turn right into the car park opposite the Ambulance station and the room we use is in the building immediately on the right as you drive in.)

 

Mis Chwefror / February 2010

Nos Fawrth / Tues 2nd, 7.30pm:  Talk (Herbalism)  Awelon, Ruthin

Non Owen, trained with the college of Cytotherapy and qualified in 1998. She works to raise awareness of health and well-being, and finds the use of plant medicine to have good benefits. Join us to hear Non talk, and for paned a bara brith.

 

Nos Wener / Fri 26th, 7:30pm:     An evening of music & sketches Llanfair DC village hall

The group Aelwyd Rhuthun will entertain us with singing and sketches. This evening has been arranged with the support of the Welsh Language Board. We will provide soft drinks & nibbles, but you can bring your own alcoholic beverages if you wish.

Nos Fawrth / Tues 2nd, 7.30pm:  Cawl a phwdin  Awelon, Ruthin

Join us to celebrate St David’s Day with an evening of supper and chat over cawl and pudding!

 

Mis Ebrill / April 2010

Nos Fawrth / Tues  6th, 7.30pm:  Noson siocled   Awelon, Ruthin

This evening has chocolate at its heart! We also invite you to bring a decorated egg to enter our little competition.

 

Nos Sul / Sun 25th, 2pm:             Walk Llandegla village car park

Meet at the Llandegla village car park for a walk which will end at Bodidris Hall for coffee. Directions: Travelling from Ruthin towards Wrexham, turn left at the Llandegla traffic lights, then take a left turn to Llandegla village. The car park is on the right after about half a mile.

Nos Fawrth / Tues 4th, 7.30pm:   AGM and scones Awelon, Ruthin

This is our Annual General Meeting for all members. We encourage you to attend for a review of the last year, to discuss recent and future events and to elect the club’s committee for 2010/11 (nominations welcome).

 

Nos Wener / Fri 14th, 7:30pm:     Folk dance (Pen Tennyn) Llanfair DC village hall

This popular event was even better with the improved acoustics of the Llanfair hall so that we could understand the instructions given in Welsh (it didn’t necessarily follow that our dancing improved though)! Bring your own drinks if you wish (we will provide soft drinks and coffee/tea).

 

Advanced notice: We have places reserved to join in the RSPB bog project at Lake Vyrnwy on June 20th. Please contact one of the committee for further information or to book a place (of which there are a limited number).

 

Mis Mehefin / June 2010

Nos Fawrth / Tues 1st, 7.30pm: Numbers evening  Awelon, Ruthin.

We particularly encourage our first and second year learner members to practise your numbers through games of Bingo, dominoes,

cards, etc. but all are welcome to join in the fun!

 

Dydd Sul / Sun 20th, 11am:                RSPB bog walk  Lake Vyrnwy .

Visit the RSPB bog project (taken by Land Rover). This trip is free of charge, but numbers are restricted (15 people), so please book your place by phoning Jan on 01824 790567. Please book before the end of May (seven places remain). Sorry, no dogs on this trip. Meeting point: Lake Vyrnwy RSPB shop at 11am.

 

Mis Gorffennaf / July 2010

Nos Fawrth / Tues 6th, 7.30pm:        Treasure hunt  Awelon, Ruthin.

Join us for a treasure hunt around Ruthin. Follow the Welsh clues from the starting point of Awelon. When you arrive back there you will be rewarded with strawberries and cream!

 

Penwythnos 17th & 18th:     Aberdaron/Ynys Enlli                           Aberdaron  

Join us for all or part of this weekend in the Aberdaron area. This will be a fun weekend which can be tailored around those coming,

so let us know what you want to do on the Saturday. The details as follows:

Dydd Sadwrn / Saturday 17th, lunchtime:  The Ship, Aberdaron

Meet at The Ship in Aberdaron around lunch time on Saturday 17th for a walk/picnic or simply a chat. Stay overnight at either The Ship or Tŷ Newydd  (please book your own rooms).

Dydd Sul / Sunday 18th, 11am:   Porth Meudwy, Aberdaron

Boat trip over to Bardsey Island. Costs: Adult = £28, Child = £14. The boat can take a maximum of 11 people, so you need to book your place

on this boat trip by the end of May. The boat will leave at 11am. Bring a packed lunch. We will spend about 4 hours on the island.

Join us for an evening of fun playing games in Welsh - we have games for all levels of Welsh learners!

 

Mis Medi / September 2010

Nos Fawrth / Tues 7th, 7.30pm:  Wildlife video diary  Awelon, Ruthin.

Following on from her Gallapagos Islands presentation last year, Jan has put together a video featuring various wildlife from the birds seen

on last year’s RSPB trip, a polecat project and her camping on Ynys Gragen.
