selection of the following: for those of a musical persuasion and
talent there could be a session of learning traditional Welsh songs
Calon Lân, Sosban Fach and of course the Welsh National Anthem.
Welsh videos, discussions about your holiday photos (you will have
plenty by September) or Old Postcards. A good opportunity to try out
your Welsh, see how you get on you might be surprised. Another
choice would be a set of scenarios such as A Shop… buy something in
Welsh. A Café…. Order a paned and something to eat. The Bank… Draw
out money. Get stamps from the Post Office… Ask the way to somewhere
(directions) or just play games scrabble etc.
There is
something for all abilities the more experienced Welsh speakers in
the Clwb attending the weekend will be able to help you to shop,
order food etc… you should feel safe and confident to use your’
Welsh among friends and leave with a sense of achievement!
Weather
permitting you could go for a walk along the river Conwy into
Betws-y-Coed.
Sunday, after
breakfast is up to you: leave and go home have a wander round the
shops, pop into Alison’s Gallery and say hello or you could go to
see the film at the information centre which is held in their
theatre, it is a tour of Snowdonia from the air in English and then
replayed in Welsh; the theatre holds approx 50 people. The film is
played on a continual loop so booking is not necessary. There are
also many Hotels and Restaurants in Betws for Sunday lunch.
This programme
is provisional and will probably change nearer to the date. If you
have any suggestions contact a Committee member.
